Flamenco Legend, Paco de Lucia dies at age 66
The inspirational flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia has died today in Cancun, Mexico aged 66. Said to be holidaying with his family, he suffered a heart attack and died before he reached the hospital. The news has been received with shock and a sense of tragic loss within the guitar community, and in his homeland of Spain. Born in 1947, he has been a constant source of inspiration and wonder to the musical community and undoubtedly his legacy will continue to enrich us all as all as time passes.
Personally, I remember listening to recordings over, and over again as a teenager and wondering just how he achieved seemingly magical prowess on the instrument. His formidable rendition of Concierto de Aranjuez has also been a constant source of inspiration and motivation.

Rest in peace, maestro.
A sad loss. He made most of those we call the “all-time greats” look very ordinary.
there was an album which i dont remember the name, i was listening to it when i was a child, i was feeling great i was thinking if i can play too much, i would be nearly as good as him 🙂 he was one of the reason why i addicted playing guitar. ive never seen him, but i’m unhappy to hear this
I am very sad to hear this bad news. God rest his sole.
Rest in Peace Maestro.
