What the critics say…
Ana Vidovic is a bright young talent, well equipped to take her place among the world’s
international soloists.
Colin Cooper,Classical Guitar
Vidovic is undeniably a very talented young guitarist whose range,as it extends, may well
visibly cast her as a major artist…
Chris Kilvington,Classical Guitar
Ana Vidovic produces so many moments of insight that you often feel you are listening to
the music for the first time. This is very impressive indeed in one so young-she is only 20.
Colin Cooper,Classical Guitar
It is difficult to know where to begin when discussing the enormous talents of Ana
Vidovic. Her dynamic range, beauty of sound, precision of articulation and virtuosity are such
that listening becomes more of an absolute musical experience.
Stephen Griesgraber,Guitar Review
What a wonderful young guitarist. Her interpretations are very moving.
Hi,
She was 16 when I heard her during the “Printemps de la Guitare” competition in 1996. So she must be older than 23 now, actually 32… I was impressed when she was 16. Everything was clean and clear – even musical ideas. Not always moving but very interesting for such a young player.
Since hearing her in 2000, I am not impressed anymore. She may be “too” professional now… But I can understand she’s considered as an outstanding professional player.
I saw her in St. Louis. Great concert. Bought a CD after the concert. Castles of Spain. Love it. Halfway through the concert she was playing a slower piece and holding onto a note when some lady’s
cell phone went off. It had one of those “musical” ringtones. Ana stopped playing while the lady struggled to get the phone out of her purse (which made it louder) and eventually got it turned off.
You could have heard a pin drop and I’m sure that lady wanted to run and hide. Ana looked up at the audience, smiled, and played a bit of the same tune that was on the offending phone! That broke
the ice and everybody had a chuckle. Ana graciously returned to her program. I went to the concert
to see if she was as good as people say she is. I left as a fan.
